St. Armands Residents Association |
Along with downtown, St. Armands and nearby Lido Beach have been referred to as major economic drivers for the City of Sarasota. The shops and attractions available here bring out City residents and tourists alike, and the winter holiday season has always been a prime time for that. Residents look forward to the annual tradition of joining with the merchants to decorate the St. Armands holiday tree. And, each year, our residents are out there with their families for the annual tree lighting, caroling, and visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus! |

September 7, 2022 | From the St. Armands Circle (Merchants) Association: The previous tree was purchased 19 years ago, and, over the years, additional 2ft sections were added. With the tall square pedestal base, the tree was just about 56ft. Although we made major and minor repairs annually due to the age of the original tree, it was slowly falling into disrepair. The brackets were not compatible with new tree branches, and the branches become brittle from the sun, the lighting is incandescent, and there were some additional safety concerns. |
