Manuel Chepote

Manuel was born and raised in Lima, Peru. While in high school and college his hobbies were bee keeping and sailing . In 1977 he received his Bachelor degree from the Law School of the Pontifical Catholic University in Lima, continuing with the family tradition, being the 5th generation of Lawyers. Later he attended Ohio State University, Wooster branch in Ohio that offered a two-year course in commercial beekeeping. He received his Associate degree in Applied Sciences for Commercial Beekeeping from Ohio State University in 1980.

Manuel has lived in Panama and Israel but is proud to be an American citizen. He has one son, Michael.

Manuel has been involved in the Insurance Industry for the past 29 years.

In 1987 he opened his Agency with Allstate, and for the past 15 years as Chepote Insurance, Inc. under the Allstate umbrella. The main lines of business are property and casualty and financial services in his centrally located office of downtown Sarasota.

Manuel is Past President of the Hispanic American Association of Sarasota and Manatee Counties, Past President of the Peruvian Club, past President of St Armands Residents Association, past President of the Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce, past member of the Financial Committee of Saint Jude Catholic Church, serving with Hermanos de Emaus, a support group at St. Jude. Past Chair of the Human Relations Board of the City of Sarasota.
Served in the Police Advisory Panel, Charter Review Committee of the City of Sarasota and past Board member of Catholic Charities, Dioceses of Venice and volunteer with the organization UnidosNow.
